Your work isn’t easy it requires patience, wisdom and love as well as strength of character. As such, your job is to tend to your flock-to watch over them, care for them, protect them and guide them through life’s journey. The word “pastor” is derived from the Latin word for “shepherd,” and this is what you become when you take on the profession of clergy. This is a poem for the pastor who wants to feel like they are wanted by others in the community where they live and work, but sometimes feels like they aren’t because they don’t know how to make friends or reach out to people without feeling like they are imposing on them or asking too much of them because they’re too busy with their own lives right now and can’t really spare any time right now but would love to get together sometime soon if possible (which isn’t really possible right now due to some scheduling conflicts that have occurred over past couple months). They lead the congregation in song and prayer and scripture reading. They are the person who presides over your wedding, baptizes your children, and lays hands on your sick body in prayer.
